Lovin the life that brings me home.....

A family visit.

My in laws were in town for five or six short days.

Time flies when there's 16 or more in the house.

One of my Mother-In-law's favorite things to do is watch the ocean sunsets.

Man we had some good shows that week....

Tide pools were rich with life.

We saw coral in the wild for the first time.

The water was only warm enough if you were under 12 years of age.

Solomon:
Sea stars.
Its a funny subject.
At least in my home it is.
Did you know that the Starfish is no long called 'Starfish'?
It's name was (appropriately) renamed to "Sea Star".

Makes sense seeing how it isn't really a fish.
Trying to convince my husband was no small feat.
He sarcastically asks me:
"So is the sea horse still named the 'sea horse'?

Smart man.
It does not in fact look like a horse.

Then, he asks me
"Who changed the name from 'Star Fish' to 'Sea Star' ?"
I thought for a moment.

I don't know, I just Googled it.

That wasn't about to be my answer out loud.

I regretfully spoke the next answer that came to my mind.

"Science" I said.

Really? Science renamed the Sea Star?
Nice one.
You'll never live that one down.

The conversation was downhill from there.
I was defensive,
He was vindictive.
It wasn't pretty.
We found out that the Sea Star stuck ti his hair
I wish you could see it better in this pic.
It definitely made him nervous.

One night, we had 6 people stay the night with us.
Making a total of 11 people in my house.
It was the most epic slumber party the Peeps have ever had.

Daddy went to bed at like 6 pm......

Lauren sure loved her Auntie Meseret.

I was hoping to gather enough pictures of the sleeping arrangement.

It was a real eye opener for me to know exactly how many people this house can comfortably hold.

Children are so content in their circumstances.

Why does that wear off as we get older?
I am not sure of the answer, except maybe because its our grown up version of peer pressure.

Making us grumble, feeling like we need more.

Either way, it was a great way to spend a week at home, and to realize how good we all have it here.

Lovin' our slice of pie in life.
